Project: Automation of Jahar Gas Plant in HPC

Early  Production  Stage

Jahar Gas Field and Plant is located near the city of Palmyra in the Syrian desert. It is considered a joint investment between the Syrian Gas Company and the Croatian company Ena. The production capacity of the field exceeds four million cubic meters per day of compressed natural gas (CNG) . The plant was rehabilitated after being destroyed during the war in its area.

Our company has contracted the early start-up part of the main sections , Which allows to dry the gas and send it ready to invest through the pipelines of the Syrian gas network.

The project consists mainly of a central control panel that controls  two sections of the plant:

the Burner and BEDs.  In addition to its subsidiary sub-sections such as insulation tanks, wells outlets and alarm signals.

  • The Burner that is used to heat mineral oil for gas processing
  • BEDs for drying the gas in a very precise chronological sequence divided into six stages during the day.
  • In addition to its sub-sections such as insulation tanks, exit wells with alarm signals, status and others.

Equipment and software used:

PLC manufactured by Hitachi, Japan, with advanced technology and high processing capabilities up to the level of DCS systems, Connected to a computer to work with Movicon SCADA from Progea Europe.
